Brown Bags to Building Bridges (B4) Series

The Brown Bags to Building Bridges (B4) Series is a quarterly lunchtime discussion featuring various Town representatives. This program allows residents to: 

  • Ask questions and gain insights 
  • Engage in direct conversations 
  • Get a behind-the-scenes view of how Town departments operate 

The series is both educational and engaging, fostering a two-way conversation aimed at enhancing the community’s knowledge of and connections with Town services and programs.

Join us for our first B4 Lunch (Brown Bags to Building Bridges) event of the year, featuring the Town of Apex’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department for a discussion where staff will provide an overview of department operations and highlight upcoming programming for all ages. Attendees can learn about parks, greenways, and recreational facilities, as well as how to obtain recreation permits and participate in special programs. The session includes details on: 

  • How to get involved or volunteer 
  • How to maximize Town recreational resources 
  • How the department supports community health, wellness, and engagement 

This educational and engaging presentation offers residents a valuable opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of PRCR services and discover meaningful ways to connect with and contribute to the Town of Apex.

Community members were invited to bring their lunch and join Apex’s Water Resources Department (Stormwater division). During this session, residents got a behind-the-scenes look at the Water Resources Department’s organizational structure and how the Stormwater Division fits in. They also learned about how staff are dedicated to stormwater pollution prevention awareness and how resident's can help protect our surface waters.

Community Members were invited to bring their lunch and join Allen Coleman, Apex Town Clerk. This session featured a behind-the-scenes view of the work that keeps our local government running smoothly. Attendees learned more about the vital role the Town Clerk’s Office plays in supporting the day-to-day operations of both the Town Council and the Apex community. Appointed by and reporting directly to the Mayor and Town Council, the Town Clerk serves as a direct link between residents and their government.

Community Members were invited to bring their lunch and join John Mullis, Public Works Director. During the discussion John Mullis provided insights into Public Works operations, shared behind-the-scenes information on the Public Works Department, and gave attendees opportunities to ask questions about services like solid waste, street maintenance, and more.

Community members were invited to bring their lunch and join Randy Vosburg to learn firsthand about his vision for Apex’s future. Since joining the Town in April 2024, Randy has served as the Town Manager and oversees the daily Town operations, managing more than 630 employees, and administering an annual budget across more than 20 departments.
