Medical Alert Program
The Town understands that reliable electric service is essential for everyday life, and for some residents, it is critical to their health and safety. The Town of Apex Electric System provides consistent, dependable power for all customers, but we recognize that power interruptions can have serious implications for households that rely on life-sustaining medical equipment.
The Medical Alert Program is designed to support customers who use qualifying medical devices by providing advance notice of scheduled power interruptions, when possible, so they can make appropriate backup arrangements.
This is NOT a priority restoration list.
We do not have a priority restoration list.
If you or someone living in your household relies on life-sustaining medical equipment, please complete this form and email to utilities@apexnc.org
About the Program

What is NOT Covered by Medical Alert
In the event of emergency power failures due to natural causes or other unforeseen circumstances, Medical Alert cannot provide prior notification.
In these scenarios, it is the customer's responsibility to have the following:
- A power back-up system for their medical devices
- An action plan for proceeding to the nearest medical facility
Additionally, Medical Alert does not exempt customers from service disconnection if they fail to:
- Make regular account payments
- Uphold payment arrangements
- Provide information necessary to re-validate their participation in the program
Disclaimer: Participation in the Medical Alert program does not mean that power may not be disconnected due to an outage or that participants in the program will be the first to regain power following an outage. Customers with medical needs should make preparations in advance for extended outages.
